THE VISUAL STORYTELLER

Ashley Trail’s mission in life is to use creativity to stir up empathy and awaken hearts. Her storytelling captures the beauty and dignity of a person, no matter the circumstance. For the last several years, she has covered humanitarian stories with a variety of organizations and has traveled across South Asia, Latin America, Central America, Europe and Africa. She helps organizations tell their “why” through storytelling.

THE VISUAL ARTIST

As a visual artist, Ashley pairs storytelling with various printmaking and mixed media. She uses storytelling to stir empathy and awaken hearts. Her artistry challenges others to respond to the needs around them. This allows her to create connection and understanding for her viewers. She works with determination, not to exploit those she meets, but to share their stories through visual artistry in a way that respect and reflect the dignity in each individual.

THE NATIONAL PARK LOVER

When Ashley isn’t capturing stories for organizations or working on her latest art project, she is roadtripping throughout the United States with her husband and enjoying days hiking, coffee around campfires and snapping photographs of nature’s stories.

Author James Thurber once said, "There are two kinds of light—the glow that illumines, and the glare that obscures." Ashley Trail and her work are examples of the former.  When I think of her and her art, I think of light, sunshine, color, warmth, and luminescence. Her unique point of view always reveals in a new way the dignity of humanity and the environment that nurtures us. -Dr. Sandra Glahn, Professor at Dallas Theological Seminary, and Editor-in-chief of Kindred Spirit Magazine
